Cooper | Farmington Newborn Photography | I Ain’t Working Here No More

Meet Cooper! Oh how adorable he is! We photographed this little man inside his mama’s tummy for their maternity session. We are happy to blog that he has arrived and is cute as ever! You can’t tell by the photos, but little Cooper was so fussy! He wanted to be awake for all the action of the session and we tried so hard to get him to sleep! Big sister Josie became antsy so daddy took her to get ice cream while we finished up the session! If Cooper could walk, he would have walked out of the session and said “I quit!” Instead, we put him in the back of daddy’s childhood tractor for a couple more clicks.

“Take this job and shove it. I ain't working here no more.” ~ Johnny Paycheck

Dante | Woodbury Senior Photography | Not Afraid

Meet Dante! I actually met him last year when he tagged along on his older brother’s senior session! So, I knew he was going to be laid back and easy to work with. I love shooting down town and I knew Dante would love this location. He wanted a more hip and grungy spot and what we found was just that! This session was great because it showed Dante’s edgy side.

I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid)
To take a stand (to take a stand)
Everybody (everybody)
Come take my hand (come take my hand)
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just letting you know that you're not alone
Holler if you feel like you've been down the same road (same road)

Delaney | Brighter Than The Sun | Hastings Children Photography

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Delaney. She does shine brighter than the sun! I was happy to photograph this vibrant 3-year old this summer! She never disappoints, especially in her element at the family cabin on Horseshoe Lake in Wisconsin.  The privilege is all mine when I say I have been photographing her since birth. Her personality gets bigger and bigger every year. Capturing her different facial expressions are the best!

“Oh, we could be the stars, falling from the sky, shining how we want, brighter than the sun.” ~ Colbie Caillat

Cody | Rosemount Senior Photography | The Color Morale

Say hello to Cody! Cody’s senior session has come and gone, but he made a lasting impression on us! Cody is the second senior I got to work with this summer from the Rosemount Senior High School class of 2015. He made it very clear that he didn’t like getting his picture taken, but we really couldn’t tell. His smile is infectious! Cody has a passion for music and he wanted that to shine through in his photos. Some of his favorite artists are Kid Cudi, The Color Morale, Twenty-One Pilots and Front Porch Step. We headed to the streets downtown for his senior session to match his rocker/grunge look.

S Family | Hastings Family Photography | Just To See You Smile

I love working with cute kids! But…who doesn’t? Their smiles light up a room so quickly, as did Alice and Ayva’s on a sunny afternoon in Hastings! These two little pumpkins adored their mom and dad and each other! Baby Ayva is just shy of her first birthday and thought it was funny to keep attacking daddy’s face with kisses.

Just to see you smile, I'd do anything that you wanted me to. When all is said and done I'd never count the cost. It's worth all that's lost, just to see you smile. ~ Tim McGraw

Twin City Fritter & Philly | Food Truck Photography | TwinTown Philly

Twin City Fritter & Philly Company food truck is a mobile food truck specializing in full handmade fritters and classic philly’s (with a twist). They cruise around the Twin Cities filling bellies from city to city. Owned and operated by JJ McKay, a friend of mine, they hit the streets this summer for the first time and they are doing well! People line up outside the Phillymobile to try their beef or chicken philly’s and wash it down with a Whistler soda, which is bottled here in the Twin Cities. But, don’t forget about their fritters! YUM!

They recently visited Mendota Heights at the Food Truck Friday’s event, held every Friday in the summer! This is where I captured the “life” of the truck!  You can see these photos featured on the Twin City Fritter & Philly Facebook page.

Check out my husband’s food blog, Gnaw Blog, to ready about his experience with the TCFP truck!

H Family | Prior Lake Family Photography | Cornhuskers

This beautiful family came to me after placing the winning bid on a gift certificate I donated to a fundraiser, raising money for a friend of mine who was battling breast cancer.

It was a hot and humid summer day when we ventured out into the park for an hour full of fun! Sierra needed a little help warming up, so we played “Let It Go”, a song from the movie Frozen. Then she was putty in our hands! Don went to school in Nebraska and wanted to have a little fun at the end of the session in some Cornhuskers gear!

Barum Family | Farmington Maternity Photography | Big Sister

We can finally blog this session! This beautiful expectant mama didn’t want to reveal her newborn baby’s name until after he was born…..He arrived, so we are now blogging their maternity session!

Tamara, Mark and Josie were expecting their sweet baby boy in just a couple of weeks from this session. Tamara and I have been friends for many years and I was so excited to find out she and her family were expecting another bundle of joy!

It is clear that Josie was excited to become a protective older sister. We had so much fun during her outdoor maternity session and we had a beautiful, warm summer day!

Keep your eyes open for the newborn session!

Zack | Apple Valley Senior Photography | Put Me In Coach

Meet Zack! Zack is the son of a friend of mine and I was happy to work with him and his family!

Zack will be graduating from Apple Valley High School this upcoming year and is very excited about it! He is in love with the game of baseball and it shows in his photos! When he is not playing ball, he is playing Xbox. His mom calls him an avid indoorsman! We ventured out to an Apple Valley dog park for this session. Who knew the word of the day would be, “Landmine!”

Look out Apple Valley senior girls, you have a Taylor Lautner look-alike on your hands!

Maternity Leave

[Deep Thoughts by Honeybee Photograhy]

I have been doing a lot of thinking about how my life is going to change in just a couple months. I have been blessed in both my personal life and business and want to thank all my family, friends and clients for your support through my pregnancy!

As I near the end of my pregnancy, I realized that I need to slow down. I am so blessed when someone wants me to capture their family and it has been hard to say ‘no”, especially when fall is right around the corner and is a high season for family portraits.

So, I have looked over my calendar and only have a few open weekday slots and a couple mini session spots on August 16th until I am back from maternity leave in 2015. So, if you are interested, please contact me soon to get on the calendar.

This year has been such an amazing year and I cannot thank you enough for all the love and support. My husband and I are so excited to welcome our first baby into our family and I cannot wait to see how life will be changed.

Dylan | Rosemount Senior Photography | Sure Shot

July 19, 2014 - Dylan | Rosemount Senior Photography | Sure Shot

Meet Dylan! Dylan was the first senior from the 2015 graduating class that I had the pleasure of photographing! I first met Dylan about a month ago when our neighborhood gang was playing bean bags in his mom’s yard. While Dylan didn’t have much interest in having senior portraits done, his mom insisted! So, we ventured down to Hastings, MN to see how high the river was after all the rain this summer!

Oh yes indeed, it’s fun time
‘cause you can’t, you won’t and you don’t stop!

In his spare time he likes to play video games, make music and hang out with friends. Dylan loves hip-hop music and aspires to be a musician himself someday! A fun little fact about Dylan is that he can solve the Rubik’s Cube!

In honor of the Beastie Boys:
To all the mothers and sisters and the wives and friends
I want to offer my love and respect to the end
Peace
